Amazing spot ran by a dedicated team who truly cook from the heart. The food was outstanding and at a very high level. Once we discovered it, it was hard to eat anywhere else in Puerto Maldonado for the remainder of our trip. Really really appreciate the conservation and collaborative work that is going on behind the scenes here. The cacao centre is alot more than just a restauraunt, I recommend the chocolate making course and the farm trip to get a real insight into this multi faceted creative hub within Puerto Maldonado..
Exquisite fresh fruits and vegetables in juices, smoothies, salads, etc. By far the nicest option in Puerto Maldonado to try regional ingredients such as cacao, brazil nuts, acai, achote, etc. As a lodge owner I like to end the rainforest experience with the Cacao Center when we get back into the city. My guests can relax in the beautiful setting overlooking the river, they can have cold drinks, great music and fantastic regional food presented in a beautiful way.
Fabulous place…food fantastic…setting idyllic ..so natural, rustic & beautiful.Owner was very friendly and even gave us a piece of his birthday cake ! There was even a sloth and 2 different monkey species paying a visit. We came for a coffee but stayed for dinner such was the beauty in all forms around. Best place in Puerto Maldonado on all counts.
A wonderful place with a great view, exceptional food. I just love the açai bowl and the coffee with Brazil nut milk. I went with a friend to make chocolate with the owner Darwin. What an educational and fun afternoon. Darwin is really invested in sustainable farming and protection of the rainforest and also has a cacao plantation. A must when in Puerto Maldonado
Rustic outdoor eating with amazing f and service. They truly bring out food that appears amazing and tastes incredible. It is made with love using local ingredients by experts. The best guacamole I’ve ever had. Also the best salad I’ve ever had-our teenage daughter gobbled it up.
Tucked in on a deadend street you’ll find this tranquil site among the busy streets of Pt. Maldonado. ‘Jungle-House’ music sets the vibes as you enter past murals, rustic huts, and fruit trees. You’re greeted by a local staff. He showed the cacao fruit and process, and let me try the beans before I ordered the classic cacao caliente. Checked out the Rio Madre de Dios while he prepared the drink, which was a rich cup of cacao served warm in a coconut bowl and garnished with ground cacao beans.
The BEST food we had in all of Peru. Fresh, healthy, made to order. We ate there twice (and would have returned if we’d stayed longer). Super fresh food and drinks. Cocktails were the best we had. EVERYTHING we had was excellent. Staff was amazing. Owner came out and gave us a lesson on cacao. He was knowledgeable and kind. He lets us try cacao and chocolates. Cannot say enough about our experience. Food took a while to prepare but they let us know that the second time we called ahead and they worked on it for us before we got there. Don’t miss this spot!!
